ABOUT OUR LEATHER JEWELRY LINE: We have searched the world over and only use the finest leather in designing our leather jewelry line. Our leather is unmatched in quality and is the same leather chosen by major designers from around the world. Our leather supplier uses only the finest hides and dyes that are certified 100% lead and arylamine free. The dye is applied in three separate coatings to the leather. Then it is heat dried to seal, provide uniformity and consistency. This means your leather jewelry will endure years of wear! In addition to the quality leather, you will find that all of the findings (clasps, connectors, etc.,) for our leather necklaces, bracelets and anklets have been carefully chosen for their quality, strength and how they compliment each type of leather for the perfect finishing touch.
TIPS - HOW TO SIZE YOUR LEATHER JEWELRY: Choosing the proper size for your leather jewelry can be confusing. For example, many men wear a size 18 inch choker necklace, 8 inch bracelet and 10 inch anklets. Many women wear a size 16 inch choker necklace, 7 inch bracelet and 9 inch anklet. However, we are all not built the same nor do we wear our jewelry in exactly the same way. Each person is unique. This is exactly why we offer custom sizing. So that you can personalize your leather jewelry to suit your needs. So we thought we would add some helpful tips in this section just in case you need a bit of help choosing the correct size; Tip 1- Measure an existing piece of jewelry. Tip 2 - Use a seamstress measuring tape (bendable measuring tape). Tip 3 - Use a piece of string to measure and then transfer that measurement onto a ruler or or yard stick to get the exact size you wish. If for some reason you receive your order and it so happens that you chose the wrong size, don't worry! We offer re-sizing for all of our leather jewelry. There is a $7 fee for this service + shipping (invoiced via paypal).
TIPS - HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LEATHER JEWELRY: CLEANING: - To clean your leather jewelry simply use a barely, and we do mean barely, dampened chamois with distilled water (not tap water). Always polish in one direction. Depending on how often you wear your jewelry you only need to do this once a year. If you wear it daily, clean once every three to six months.
- For routine maintenance of suede leather, dry brush gently with a soft suede brush.
CONDITIONING: - Most people are under the impression that you should condition leather and condition it often. This would be the case if you were talking about a saddle or a pair of shoes, however, this is jewelry. The oil in your skin is enough to condition the leather each time you wear it. Do not use waxes or other leather preparations that impair the items ability to breathe.
THINGS TO REMEMBER: - Never store leather goods in plastic or other non-breathable covers for long periods of time. This will cause leather to become dry and brittle.
- Allow wet or damp leather to air-dry naturally away from any heat source. If the leather is dripping wet you may pat dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid showering or swimming (ocean or pool) while wearing your leather jewelry. Not only will this damage the leather, it could also interfere with the professional epoxy used in the connectors.
- Avoid spraying perfumes or hair sprays directly onto your leather jewelry. This too will damage the leather and may interfere with the professional epoxy used in the connectors.
- Be sure to order the correct size. Although leather does stretch somewhat, ordering an item too small will put undo stress on both leather and findings.
